The Gwinnett County Family Violence Task Force and the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department

Invite you to:

A Training Day for Police Officers to discuss the Ins and Outs of Domestic Violence


          When:  Thursday June 2, 2011 at 9am – 5pm

Where:  Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department
2900 University Pkwy. NE
               Lawrenceville, GA 30043

                                 Cost:  $25, but space is limited and lunch will be provided

        Credits:  8 POST credits are available for this training. 

Participants will:

  • Discuss Domestic Violence using the Barriers Model presented by Sabrina Davis from PADV
  • Hear about the victim advocacy process and the TPO process presented by Francis Smith from PADV 
  • Learn tips on how to respond to a domestic violence call including interviewing as well as learn the evidence needed to prosecute a case presented by Deputy Lucas Catoggio from the police department and Jennifer Hope from Atlanta Family Counseling Center.
  • Discuss different cultural issues included GLBTQQI presented by Amita Rao from RAKSHA,  Jeanette Soto from PADV and TJ Alvarado from Blaze 4 Life
  • Have lots of time to ask questions and share experiences!

The Gwinnett County Family Violence Task Force, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.
